Data Protection

Our website may be used without giving any personal data. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory provisions of the German data protection regulations and of this privacy statement.

The legal basis of data protection can be found in the German Federal Data Protection Act (German acronym: BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (German acronym: TMG).

We would like to point out that internet-based data transmission involves vulnerabilities; complete protection against access by third parties is therefore impossible.

Cookies

In some cases we use so-called “cookies” on our website. Cookies are small text files that your web browser places and stores on your computer. They serve to optimise our website and our offering. “Session cookies” are mostly used, which are deleted once your visit has been completed.
Other cookies, however, provide information so as to automatically recognise you next time you visit the website. This recognition is based on the IP address stored in the cookies. The information obtained in this way is used to optimise our offers and give you easier access to our website.
You can set your browser so that you are always informed about the use of cookies, or prevent their use by selecting the appropriate settings; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all of the features of our website.

Data collection and storage

For technical reasons, the following data – which your Internet browser transmits to us or to our webspace provider – is collected (“server log files”):

– Browser type and version

– Operating system used

– Webpage via which you visit our website (referrer URL)

– Webpages you visit

– Date and time of your access

– Your Internet Protocol (IP) address.

This anonymous data is stored separately from your personal data, and thus no conclusions about a particular person can be drawn. The data is evaluated for statistical purposes, in order to be able to optimise our website and our offering.

Contact form

If you make an enquiry to us via our contact form, your information will be stored for the purpose of processing. It will not be passed on to third parties. The data collected is also not compared with data collected by other components of our website.

Use of Google Analytics with anonymisation function

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”. Google Analytics uses “cookies” – text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analysed.

The information generated by these cookies – for example, time, location and the frequency with which you visit the website, including your IP address – is sent to Google in the US and stored there.

On our website, we use Google Analytics with an IP anonymisation function. In this case, your IP address is abbreviated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, and is thus anonymised.

Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity for us and to provide further services related to website and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties, insofar as this is required by law or if third parties process these data on behalf of Google.

In no case will Google, by its own account, connect your IP address with any other data held by Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies via a corresponding setting in your browser software; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all of the features of our website.

Furthermore, for most popular browsers, Google offers a deactivation option, which gives you more control over what data is collected and processed by Google. If you select this option, no information regarding the website visit will be sent to Google Analytics. The activation does not prevent information being transmitted to us or to any other web analytics services we commission. For more information on the deactivation option provided by Google, and on the activation of this option, please click on the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Alternatively, by clicking on: this link, you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data regarding you within this website. Just click on the link above to download an “opt-out cookie”. Your browser must generally accept cookies for this purpose. If you clear your cookies on a regular basis, you need to click on the link each time you visit this website.

Use of Google Maps

On our website, we use the component “Google Maps” from the company Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”.

Each time the component “Google Maps” is accessed, a cookie is placed by Google in order to process user settings and user data upon displaying the page in which the “Google Maps” component is integrated. This cookie is not normally deleted by closing the browser, but expires after a certain time, unless you have previously deleted it manually.

If you do not agree with this processing of your data, it is possible to deactivate the “Google Maps” service and thus prevent the transmission of data to Google. To do so, you need to disable the JavaScript function in your browser. However, we would like to point out that in this case, “Google Maps” cannot be used, or only to a limited extent.

The use of “Google Maps” and the information obtained via “Google Maps” shall occur in accordance with Google’s terms of use

https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=en&gl=de as well as the additional terms and conditions for “Google Maps”

https://www.google.com/intl/eng_eng/help/terms_maps.html

Use of reCAPTCHA

In order to protect the input forms on our website, we use the “reCAPTCHA” service by the company Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”. This service can be used to determine whether the corresponding input is of human origin, or constitutes misuse via automated machine processing.

To our knowledge, the referrer URL, IP address, the behaviour of the website visitors, information about your operating system, browser, and length of time visiting our website, cookies, presentation instructions and scripts, the input behaviour of the user, as well as mouse movements, are all transmitted to Google within the scope of the “reCAPTCHA” checkbox.

Google uses the information obtained in this way to, among other things, digitise books and other print products, and to optimise services such as Google Street View and Google Maps (for example house number and street name recognition).

The IP address transmitted within the framework of “reCAPTCHA” is not associated with any other data held by Google, unless you are logged in to your Google Account at the time of the use of the “reCAPTCHA” plug-in. If you wish to prevent Google’s transmission and storage of data about you and your behaviour at our website, you need to log out of “Google” before you visit our website or use the reCAPTCHA plug-in.

The use of the information obtained via the “reCAPTCHA” service shall be carried out in accordance with Google’s terms of use:

https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
